The original 50's wiring method, as used in the first Les Pauls up to the end of the 1950s, is an indispensable component for guitarists looking for the legendary vintage sound. Our wiring kit works equally well with humbucker and P-90 pickups.
Features of the 50's Wiring Kit:
Pots High quality CTS 500K Audio Taper High Torque - choice of 3/4“ (19.05 mm) long shaft or 3/8” (9.52 mm) short shaft with 9.5 mm thread.
Capacitor: either 0.022 uF - 22nF TAD Orange Drop, TAD Mustard, Jupiter Red Astron PIO or bumblebees
Socket: Robust SWITCHCRAFT 1/4” mono audio jack.

How do you find the right potentiometers and switches for your Les Paul?
Les Paul models vary greatly - there are countless variants with different switches and pots. Here are some basic guidelines:
Until 1977: Les Pauls with arched tops use short potentiometers and long toggle switches.
From 1977: Different configurations as listed below:

Special= shortshort
Important: If you want to use a long toggle switch in your Les Paul, you also need a “Deep Round Nut”, which extends the thread. Available separately.
