Mo-Tone 75 – Single Coils (Neck & Middle)

Anyone who plays a modern HSS setup (Humbucker at the bridge, Single Coils in the middle and at the neck) is often familiar with the problem of tonal balance: when switching from the powerful bridge Humbucker to traditional Single Coils, the sound drops off slightly and loses its low-end presence. We developed the Mo-Tone 75 Single Coils specifically for this scenario.

The concept behind these pickups is as simple as it is uncompromising: We exploit the physically available space on the coil to the absolute maximum. Every Mo-Tone 75 is hand-wound to the very edge in our workshop using the finest AWG #42 Heavy Formvar wire.

The sonic result of this meticulous handcrafting is a maximally rich, juicy Single Coil-tone. The pickups deliver enormous reserves in the low-midrange and powerful, round bass, while always preserving the open dynamics and fine articulation you expect from a true Single Coil. They simply sound huge and give the instrument incredible presence.

These characteristics make the Mo-Tone 75 our unreserved recommendation for modern HSS sets. They provide the perfect, powerful counterbalance to a hot bridge humbucker and ensure organic, seamless tone transitions without any noticeable loss of pressure.

For the center position, we manufacture the Mo-Tone 75 as an RWRP (Reverse Wound / Reverse Polarity) by default to effectively suppress unwanted noise in the intermediate positions.
